The Engagement
We went out to an early dinner on Friday, August 22, 2003, at Wildfire in downtown Chicago. I had been trying to reach her father all day to do the 'proper' thing and ask him first. I finally reached him when Monica went to the restroom. When she came back, I had to tell her that I was talking to my father. After dinner, we took the El over to the Sears Tower and watched the sun set. Just after the sun went down, we found a window to ourselves, and I popped the question. Monica was very surprised, and said yes!
